Week 12

At last! This has been a real struggle for me. I found it impossible to complete this at work, so it was done at home with the support of the Library Manager. Even this has been difficult, and I have finally found a free weekend to blitz this and finish it once and for all. It has been made a requirement of our performance review to complete this, so the pressure was on.
I don't like sitting at a computer for long periods of time, so this last bit has been hard for me. I have, however, learnt a lot of things that I didn't know before, and I can see lots of ways they can be used in the library. Still, I feel we have to be selective in what we use, or we risk overload!

Week 11

On-line docs would be useful when planning a meeting that involves and lot of staff with different responsibilities. This way, everyone can add or change things depending on their availabilty. My spreadsheet isn't very professional looking, but I get the idea

Week 10

What a great idea the 'Library finder" is.

It would be useful to have a map of Singleton with the local groups that we deal with marked, such as the Historical society, Family History society, schools, pre-schools etc,

And how good is this at Big Huge Labs for a teen activity.

Week 9

Now I know what POD actually stands for! I feel more informed already.
I love the idea of the library story podcasts

I listened to the 'Lion and the Mosquito' and will be looking for stories that we can use at Storytime. The on-line education database is a great resource.

Week 8

'Slammin the boards' is just another example of ref services and libraries moving forward in the age of technology. Mnay libraries answer question via SMS or email, so it is natural that a service that was always done either face to face or done via request forms is now done on-line. It is reasonable to expect that the 'asker' knows that their question is being answered by a librarian...........an information specialist.

Week 7

Getting there!
I love Delicious. I think we could use this as a link to direct kids (and big people) to quality sites for info, games, reader's advisory and crafts.

Library Thing is lovely!

How nice to create your personal library and share it with other readers. This is the best thing I have seen so far.

Week 6

Been trying for a few days to embed a youtube video. I need a teenager to help me! It seems my computer is not copying the code properly. More on this later...................... YAYYYYY!
